Commercial Terms & Conditions
- All prices are exclusive of VAT.
- Our prices are fixed for 3 months.
- Payment terms are as stated on our quotation and invoice unless otherwise stated.
- When working with a new client, it will be down to Kent Flooring UK Ltd as to whether a deposit is required before commencement of work on site. Subsequent contracts may also be subject to the payment of a deposit.
- Deposits are non-refundable, any goods returned by the client a 30% handling fee will be charged accordingly.
- All goods remain the property of the Kent Flooring UK Ltd until paid in full.
- If you fail to pay on our agreed date, we may:
- Charge you interest at the rate of set of 8%
- Calculated (daily) from the date of our invoice until payment.
- Compounded on the first day of each month.
- Before and after judgement (unless a court orders otherwise)
- Claim a fixed sum compensation from you under S.5A of that Act to cover our credit control overhead costs.
- Recover under clause 5.8 of that Act the cost of taking legal action to make you pay.
- Our costs are subject to change until a site visit has been made.
- Trimming of doors are excluded unless otherwise stated.
- Our quotation includes for work detailed only, any changes or additions to the quotation hereto will be charged accordingly.
- Our quotation is based on all areas cleared prior to work commencing by others unless stated. We can price for this upon request, otherwise a further labour charge may be made, Kent Flooring UK Ltd accepts no responsibility for damage to property/furniture whilst being moved by Kent Flooring UK Ltd.
- Supply Only of any materials are strictly non-refundable.
- Costs given are for continuous working during normal working hours (Monday – Friday 8am – 5pm)
- Any additional materials to be charged at trade + 15%.
- Kent Flooring UK Ltd will take no responsibility for any preparation work done by others prior to our materials being fitted to the sub floor.
- Kent Flooring will only make the floor smooth and flat with a latex screed, using a smoothing compound, please note this will NOT level your flooring (subfloor will only be laser levelled if stated as an additional charge on quotation).
- Kent Flooring UK Ltd will take no responsibility for any free issue flooring that is then fitted by us.
- To move and replace any kitchen appliances will be stated on our quotation and charged at an extra cost. Kent Flooring UK Ltd will take no responsibility for any damages or leaks once reinstated.
- When removing doors/kitchen plinths/skirting’s Kent Flooring UK Ltd will take no responsibility for any damage whilst removing, trimming, and re-instating or any damage caused to the walls.
- It is the sole responsibility of the client for re-routing all cables and wires that may run across the sub floor before installation of a new floor covering. If this prevents an installation going ahead on the booked installation date this can incur a cancellation charge or waiting time charge. Kent Flooring UK Ltd accepts no responsibility for damage to wires or cables during installation.
- Kent Flooring UK Ltd require sole access to the work area, other contractors will be denied access whilst all flooring works are being carried out.
- Kent Flooring UK Ltd reserves the right to levy a surcharge of £175.00 per day if the client changes an installation date within 48 hours of the agreed date.
- Kent Flooring UK Ltd reserves the right to levy a surcharge of £125.00 per man if they arrive on site and the job cannot be started, therefore a wasted day cost will be charged.
- During winter months, it is essential that the heating system is operational before any installation takes place, failure to ensure this may cause irreparable damage to the floor covering of which Kent Flooring UK Ltd cannot accept responsibility.
- All linoleum installations may incur a phenomenon known as “Stove Yellowing”, this may cause the flooring to appear slightly more yellow or darker when first installed. Exposed to light after installation will cause the flooring to achieve the correct colour. This process may take up to 3 months and is entirely normal, however, it is more noticeable with the lighter colour ranges.
- Please note if we are working through a main contractor for a third party these terms override all other considerations and maintains the goods as the property of Kent Flooring UK Ltd contracts are to incorporate this condition within its terms and conditions with their client.
- Order is subject to written confirmation/email and or order number.
- Receipt of order or signature on the contract will be an agreement of Terms and Conditions of Kent Flooring UK Ltd.
- On site work the main contractor will be responsible for providing lights, electricity, and clear access.
- On site the main contactor if required will make provisions for safe and secured storage of the flooring products and always will be responsible for the Health and Safety of our operatives on their site.
- On completion of flooring installation by Kent Flooring UK Ltd the client or site representative will sign off the work.
- Once sign off has taken place you are then agreeing to the satisfaction of all works completed.
- If there are any disputes with the work carried out the work must not be signed off.
- Sign off is at the client’s discretion. Any damages or marks found in the floor that have been caused by the operative before the client has signed off work, any damages noticed after this time i.e., the following day, will be assumed to be the fault of the client and will not be rectified.
- All information gathered including any information given at the time of enquiry is collected lawfully and in accordance with the Data Protection Act 1998.
- Kent Flooring UK Ltd reserves the rights to change these Terms and Conditions at any given time.
- If any unforeseen cables are found while lifting floors extra cost may incur due to further floor preparation work.
- All vinyl quotes allow for header welds (weld in vinyl length) unless stated otherwise.
